The annual Tools of the Trades hybrid conference focuses on connecting artisans and makers to business resources in Philadelphia and beyond. This three-day event provides a concentrated period for creative learning to help craft-focused businesses accelerate growth and find success however they choose to define them.

Tools of the Trades delivers a variety of programming and materials - lectures, resource directories, and a collaborative event  -  to address the needs voiced by our creatives running small businesses. The conference strives to emphasize approachability, affordability, and a supportive environment where everyone can come together and no question goes unanswered. 

Tickets to the three-day interactive conference will give attendees access to:

  • 20+ renowned makers and artists drawing from their lived experiences to share their practical wisdom on breaking down intimidating topics into bite-sized steps.

  • 10 interactive webinars and digital panel discussions with dedicated time and space to engage with presenters and audience members.

  • Connect with a vibrant community of like-minded makers and crafters, both virtually and in person, forging real-life connections that fuel your creative journey.

  • An invitation to promote your products, practice, or small business in our Post-Event Directory shared among registrants and in CraftNOW and NextFab media.

  • Access to our Digital Tool Kit complete with discounts at suppliers and organizations recommended resources from speakers, and registration links for one-on-one office hours.

  • All recordings of the sessions are made available only for ticket holders on the days that follow the conference.

Q: I’m just now starting my small business - is this conference for me?

A: Yes! Our conference is meant to serve you wherever you may be on your journey - from those just starting out to those who have a brick-and-mortar store and want to strengthen their skills. 

Q: I’m not local to Philadelphia - can I still attend?

A: Absolutely! The information sessions covering universal issues creative business face are digital, which allows you to access them from home, the studio, or wherever you are. There is an optional post-conference workshop and happy hour at NextFab in Philadelphia for anyone who can attend. 


Q: Will I gain access to recordings of the individual sessions?

A: Yes! Anyone who purchases a ticket will receive links to the recording to rewatch at their convenience, generally two to three weeks post-conference.
